LCSO K9 visits SAPS Coalition Meeting

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office K9 Narcotics Detection, Bella, and her handler, Deputy Brett Schmidt, educated the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition meeting on September 14, 2021

Deputy Schmidt informed that since 2019, Bella has assisted with over 100 arrests, involving possession of narcotics.

Bella also conducts school searches and weekly Lincoln County jail searches. She has also searched vehicles, hotels, truck stops, and I-80 rest areas, all of which have lead to detection of narcotics, guns and cash.

Deputy Schmidt stated, “Bella is always going to have a place as her use has been so ingrained in the justice system”.

Bella and Deputy Schmidt demonstrated how easily her K9 nose can detect and uncover an opioid scented training tool.
